Eric and Duc, pre-Derby marathon, looking very serious and focused. Not to mention sleepy.
Marjorie and me, at the Derby. She had a hat; I didn't have time to go shopping for one during school. She shouldn't have had time to go shopping either, since she was (and is) supposed to be studying for the boards.
Eric, Duc, and Joel, at Derby.
Eric and me, at Derby.
Becky, my penpal, and me, at dinner in Lexington after I finished my finals. I look surprisingly awake. And of course, the requisite kitten pictures:
They like to nap in the kitchen, which is very bizarre. Sometimes one is on the counter and the other on the microwave...
...and other times one is in the toaster pan while the other is on the microwave. I don't think I'll be using the toaster pan again, at least not without a thorough scrubbing first.
These pictures serve as proof that our kittens have zero survival instincts whatsoever, so they should probably never become outdoor cats, the poor dumb adorable things.
And finally, cats in the sink, just like the website. We just got back last night -- me from a week at home then Eric's sister's wedding, and Eric from just the wedding weekend. We came home to two starving kittens (my friend was looking in on them and said they ran out of food on Sunday, but figured it would be OK since we were coming home on Monday), one of whom was limping. Moxie was limping on her left hind leg, but I took her to the vet today and the x-rays were negative. The vet felt a knot behind her knee, so he thinks Mojo bit her. Bad brother. I think he feels guilty, because he's been cleaning his sister extra often and vigorously since we got home. Moxie got a shot of dexamethasone for the swelling, with a touch of an antibiotic for the bite, and she should be back to normal soon. I'll post about the wedding a bit later; right now I'm off to watch Eric play in his work softball game, and then I have tons of unpacking and laundry to do!
