I've been discovered. A few weeks ago, I got an email from cat-bloggers.com saying they had noticed I blog about cats and asking if I would like to be part of their network. I still haven't responded. It's sort of a weird site -- badly laid out and hard to navigate, and some of the blogs are dedicated to cat-type things while others are like mine, a mix of life and cats (and life with cats). So I haven't decided. On the one hand, I don't want to be associated with anything weird that might damage my reputation. On the other hand, it might bring me more readers. Thoughts?

Lost was OK tonight. I don't think that sheriff woman was speaking Chinese when she read Jack's tattoo. At most it was a non-Mandarin Chinese dialect badly spoken, but I suspect it was Thai. And that makes sense, but then why say it was translated from Chinese? There's not actually much to say about the episode, since nothing concrete happened. All we know is that the tailies survived and think they're OK. It looks like next week's episode will have more action.

For dinner tonight I made chicken scallopini with lemons and capers and a white wine reduction sauce. It turned out beautifully. What made it super-easy was a package of thin-sliced chicken breasts on clearance at the grocery store yesterday. It was on clearance because the sell-by date was today. It had a sticker on it that said, "Perfect for scallopini!" so I took its advice. I don't think I'd have the patience to take a regular chicken breast and pound it thin on top of everything else. The next time I make it, I'll make more of the sauce and serve it with angel hair pasta. Yum.

Yeah, last night's episode bugged me. No new answers at all. Sure, we know what Jack's tattoos say, but it doesn't help us understand anything. We know that the others live on the big island-- who cares? We assumed that for so long anyway-- it's only been since early this season that we thought otherwise, and it honestly doesn't seem to make a difference where they live; they have surveillance over everyone anyway.
I was just annoyed that they introduced yet another mysterious situation with Jack's spiky-haired lady friend. We don't need additional mysterious situations. Cmon, folks.
Oh yeah-- and I love those thin-sliced chicken breasts too. Sometimes they are hard to find. I'm going to assume you got yours at Kroger and cross my fingers that our Kroger has them too.
While I can understand restlessness about the way they're stingy with answers, I absolutely love espisodes this this week's. I feel like the beauty of Lost is how they take their time and develop complex characters and this week was the best episode so far of the new semi-season.
Does the Thai language use Chinese characters maybe?
Yes, I believe Thai may use Chinese characters; that's not uncommon. But why would you say it out loud in Thai and then call it Chinese? That seems odd. I tried listening to it a few times to see if maybe she was saying it in Chinese, but I don't think she was... but I already deleted it from DVR, too.
Also, I think I'm anxious to see resolution for some of the plotlines because I keep reading those stories about how ratings are down (they were particularly publicized for the V-day episode, even though all TV viewership was down 7% on V-day and the drop for Lost was only a little over 7%), and now they've cancelled Studio 60 and I guess I'm just feeling nervous.
