Thursday: Worked my last half-shift in the ER, packed up my car and left Whitesburg. Drove 4 hours back to Louisville.
Friday: Took my family medicine final exam and had a standardized patient quiz. Found out I passed the test and now I am officially done with third year!!!! Packed up the car and left Louisville at 5 pm. Made it to Pennsylvania around midnight and slept in my car at two different rest stops.
Saturday: Made it to Downingtown by 11 am, for a whopping 18 hours spent in the car. Relaxed. Played on the best slip-n-slide ever. Went to a Phillies game.
Sunday: Day from airline hell #1. Eventually made it from Philly to JFK, but missed my connection to Belgium and spent the night in the airport.
Monday: Day from airline hell #2. Eventually made it from JFK to Atlanta and made my connection to Belgium, but found out that my luggage didn't.
The only good thing about the continuous lack of sleep from Thursday to Tuesday? I was so exhausted I went to bed at a normal Brussels bedtime last night and got over my jet lag immediately. Looking forward to exploring this city and drinking some good beer. Oh yeah, and my luggage is supposed to be delivered today.
