Babies!

I got to see baby deliveries today, and help suture the aftermath of one of them. It was pretty exciting, although also pretty disturbing and gross. I saw two deliveries; one was an older woman who ended up needing a small episiotomy at the end to help things along, and the other was a very young woman who ended up delivering on the bed with just the nurses and me and the other med student in the room before the doctors could come in. One second, the nurses were saying "push," the next, they said, "OK, go get the doctor," and the next, out popped a baby! It was just a glimpse of OB, but it was pretty fun.
